Technical Notes

Popular alpine lake hike with optional extension to Rampart Ridge for larch views in fall. Trail is gradual through forest, then climbs steeply the final mile to the lake. Extremely popular during larch season (October). Can extend to Lila and Rampart Lakes for more alpine scenery. Snow on trail into June.

I-90 East to Exit 62 (Kachess Lake). Turn left, cross under I-90, then right on FR-4930 for 3.5 miles to the trailhead. Gravel road.
