Most popular hike near Seattle. Well-maintained trail with steady switchbacks through forest. The main trail ends at a broad viewpoint below the Haystack — a Class 3 scramble to the true summit (not recommended for beginners). Trail is hikeable year-round but icy in winter. Extremely crowded on weekends — arrive before 8 AM for parking.
