Technical Notes

Steep, relentless climb to one of the best viewpoints in the Olympics. Two trailheads: lower (winter) adds 1.5 miles each way; upper (summer) starts higher. Mountain goats are commonly seen near the summit — keep distance. Snow on upper trail into July. Very steep final stretch. Some loose rock near summit.
